Roofing Leads vs Inbound Calls: Which Is Cheaper Per Booked Job?
All Service Leads sells both sides of this comparison at published prices, so the arithmetic can be done in public. A Signature Roofing Lead is $5.00, delivered as a row in a CSV list, with a 50-lead minimum, so $250 to start. A Roofing Inbound Call is $150.00, a homeowner with a roof problem who is already on the line when you answer, with a 5-call minimum, so $750 to start. Cost per booked job is price divided by close rate, which means one call has to close 30 times as often as one list lead to cost the same per signed job. Every third-party figure below carries its publisher, its date and its URL.
Every third-party number on this page is followed by its publisher, its date and its URL, so you can check it. All Service Leads is a lead vendor, and its own prices sit in the same tables as everyone else's.
What is the difference between a roofing lead and a roofing inbound call?
The phone call. A Signature Roofing Lead is a $5 row in a list: name, phone number, property address and the roof issue a homeowner reported, and you make first contact. A Roofing Inbound Call is $150: we call the homeowner, confirm three things, then connect them to you live, so your phone rings with a homeowner already on the line.
A Signature Roofing Lead is a row in a CSV file: the homeowner's name, phone number, property address and the roof issue they reported, exactly as the row came to us. We deliver the list without contacting anyone on it, so the first call, text or knock is yours. It costs $5.00 per lead with a 50-lead minimum, which is $250 to start, and the list lands in your account within 2-3 business days.
A Roofing Inbound Call is the same kind of homeowner, already on the line when you answer. We do the dialing: we call the homeowner, confirm they own the home, that they have a roof problem, and that they want a quote, then we connect them to you live on the phone. No list to work, no voicemail, no chasing. You pick up, you set the inspection. Those three confirmations are the whole claim. We run no other check on the homeowner or the property, and we do not set the appointment for you. It costs $150.00 per call with a 5-call minimum, which is $750 to start, and calls are completed within 5 business days.
Both products are ordered the same way, by one ZIP code plus a radius. If that radius cannot fill the order, the search widens outward from the same ZIP code until it does, so every order fills. Both are roofing only and both are sold in the United States. All Service Leads makes no claim of sole or one-time sale of any homeowner: radius circles drawn around neighboring ZIP codes overlap, and a homeowner inside your radius may also appear on another roofer's list. The full price list, with the wider market in the same table, is on the roofing lead cost page.
One more thing worth saying out loud before the arithmetic starts. All Service Leads is a lead vendor, so treat our two prices as a vendor's own list prices sitting in the same table as everyone else's. We publish no close rate, no return figure and no customer results for either product, because we have nothing to substantiate them with. Every close rate on this page belongs to a third party measuring somebody else's leads.

What do roofing leads and inbound calls cost across the market?
Published 2026 prices: $20 to $75 for a shared roofing lead (Aged Lead Store), $25 to $200 on Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack (99 Calls), $120 to $250 from vendors selling to one contractor (biddable), $200 to $400 in the live phone-handoff category, which we sell as Inbound Calls (Website Depot). All Service Leads charges $5.00 and $150.00.
The spread is wide because the products are not the same thing. A shared roofing lead is a homeowner inquiry the seller sends to several contractors at once, and Aged Lead Store describes the same homeowner's information going to three, four or even five contractors (March 20, 2026, https://agedleadstore.com/roofing-leads-cost-guide/). A sole-buyer lead is one the seller promises to deliver to a single contractor, which is why 99 Calls prices that category at $40 to $550 against $25 to $200 for the shared platforms (February 2, 2026, updated July 22, 2026, https://99calls.com/blog/roofing-lead-generation-costs-in-2026). The live phone-handoff category, which we sell as Inbound Calls, is a phone call a vendor's staff has already made and handed to the contractor, priced at $200 to $400 by Website Depot (July 17, 2026, https://websitedepot.com/roofing-lead-generation-companies-with-top-roi/) and at $100 to $900 per call in ActiveProspect's pay-per-call row (March 2, 2026, https://activeprospect.com/blog/roofing-leads-cost/).
Our $150 Inbound Call sits under Website Depot's published $200 to $400 range for that category, and it sits inside ActiveProspect's wider $100 to $900 pay-per-call range rather than under it. Our $5 lead sits under every price in the table above, though not under every roofing lead price in print: Aged Lead Store prices aged roofing leads, inquiries submitted weeks or months earlier and resold, at approximately $0.25 to $1.50 per lead (March 20, 2026). That is a statement about what is in the box, not a claim of better value. At $5 you are buying the row and doing the calling. At $150 you are buying the call and the connection. Nothing else changes between them: the same ZIP-plus-radius ordering, the same roofing-only data, the same replacement rules.
A price on its own decides nothing, which is why the third column of the table is close rate wherever a publisher gives one. The next section turns those two columns into a single number you can act on.

Third-party figures are quoted from the pages linked beside them as they read on the dates given. biddable publishes two separate tables, one of prices by lead source and one of prices and booking rates by lead quality; the one biddable price band above that carries no rate comes from the source table, and the four that carry a rate come from the quality table. They describe those companies' leads, not ours.
Which is cheaper per booked job, a $5 roofing lead or a $150 inbound call?
At the same close rate the $5 lead is 30 times cheaper per booked job, because $150 divided by $5 is 30. Cost per booked job equals price divided by close rate: $5 at 10% is $50; $150 at 30% is $500. A call ties only by closing 30 times as often.
The two products cost the same per booked job at exactly one point: when your inbound-call close rate is 30 times your list-lead close rate. Since no close rate can pass 100%, that tie is only reachable while your list leads close at 3.3% or less. At a 3% list close rate an inbound call has to close at 90% to match it. At a 4% list close rate no inbound-call close rate can match it at all, because 4% times 30 is 120%.
For scale, and only for scale, here is what third parties publish about other companies' leads. Fixr, citing RoofingCalculator.com, puts the close rate on purchased roofing leads at 3% to 8%, which at $5.00 per lead is about $167 per booked job at 3% and about $63 at 8%. Website Depot reports a 30% to 50% close rate for its live phone-handoff category, which at $150 per call is $500 per booked job at 30% and $300 at 50%. biddable's own worked line is that a $40 shared lead booking at 8% costs $500 per booked job (March 19, 2026). None of those numbers measured All Service Leads, and we publish no close rate of our own. Put your own number in the table.
What the arithmetic leaves out is your labor and your calendar. Working 166 rows is hours of dialing or a week of knocking, and some of those rows will never pick up. Answering 5 Inbound Calls means somebody has to be free to pick up 5 times. If your time is the scarce thing rather than your cash, the cheaper column on paper is not automatically the cheaper column in practice. That is the real trade in this comparison, and it is a trade about labor, not about lead quality.
| Your close rate | Cost per booked job, $5.00 Signature Roofing Lead | Cost per booked job, $150.00 Roofing Inbound Call | List-lead close rate that would tie this inbound-call close rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | $100.00 | $3,000.00 | 0.17% |
| 10% | $50.00 | $1,500.00 | 0.33% |
| 15% | $33.33 | $1,000.00 | 0.50% |
| 20% | $25.00 | $750.00 | 0.67% |
| 25% | $20.00 | $600.00 | 0.83% |
| 30% | $16.67 | $500.00 | 1.00% |
| 35% | $14.29 | $428.57 | 1.17% |
| 40% | $12.50 | $375.00 | 1.33% |
Read the last column this way: if your inbound calls close at 30%, a $5 list lead only has to close at 1.00% to cost the same per booked job. All Service Leads publishes no close rate for either product; these are your numbers, not ours.
How fast do you have to call a roofing lead?
The research measures inbound web inquiries, not purchased lists. Harvard Business Review's 2011 study of 1.25 million leads found firms contacting within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to qualify a lead as firms that waited even an hour longer. The 2007 InsideSales and MIT study found qualifying odds drop 21 times between five and 30 minutes.
Be precise about what the famous numbers measured. The InsideSales.com and MIT Lead Response Management study was presented by Dave Elkington of InsideSales.com and Dr James Oldroyd of MIT Sloan at MarketingSherpa's Business-to-Business Demand Generation Summit on October 16, 2007. It examined three years of data across six companies, more than fifteen thousand leads and more than one hundred thousand call attempts, all of them web-form leads that the companies generated themselves. It found that the odds of contacting a lead if called in 5 minutes versus 30 minutes drop 100 times, and that the odds of qualifying drop 21 times. Qualifying there means the lead was willing to enter the sales process, not that a job was signed. The study states in its own overview that it did not address close ratios, so anyone quoting the 21 times figure as a close-rate number is quoting it wrong.
The Harvard Business Review article, by James B. Oldroyd, Kristina McElheran and David Elkington, was published in March 2011 and has two halves. One is an audit of 2,241 US companies, measuring how long each took to respond to a web-generated test lead: 37% responded within an hour, 16% took between one hour and 24 hours, 24% took longer than that, and 23% never responded at all. The average response time among the companies that answered at all inside 30 days was 42 hours. The other half is a separate study of 1.25 million sales leads received by 29 B2C and 13 B2B companies in the United States, which produced the nearly seven times figure for contact inside the first hour, measured against firms that tried to make contact even an hour later, and a more than 60 times figure against companies that waited a day or longer. Qualifying there is HBR's own definition: having a meaningful conversation with a key decision maker. That is a conversation, not a signed job, which is the same limit the 2007 study carries. One caveat about the link in our source list: hbr.org serves only an abstract of this article behind a paywall, so every figure in this paragraph is taken from the March 2011 article text rather than from what that URL displays.
A newer survey points the same way. Blazeo's 2026 Speed-to-Lead Benchmark Report, announced February 24, 2026, covered 573 companies across six service industries and reports that 81.2% of companies that respond in more than an hour say they lose leads, against 46.6% of those responding within 15 minutes. Blazeo sells lead-response services, so it has a commercial interest in that finding, and the number is quoted here as the vendor published it.
On shared roofing leads the pressure is competitive rather than academic. Aged Lead Store, which sells leads, writes that with a shared lead you are expected to call immediately and compete with other contractors who received the same homeowner (March 20, 2026). Website Depot puts it harder: to win a shared lead your sales staff must sprint to make contact within 60 seconds (July 17, 2026).
Here is the honest bridge to what we sell. None of that research measured a purchased roofing list, and none of it measured an inbound call. A Signature Roofing Lead is not a web inquiry ringing your phone; it is a row on a list you work at your own pace, and we do not publish an age for any row. A Roofing Inbound Call takes response time off your side of the deal, because we have already made the call and the homeowner is on the line when you pick up. If the research has a practical reading for a roofer, it is that whoever reaches the conversation first has the advantage, and that an Inbound Call buys the conversation while a list asks you to go and get it.
What does each one cost per conversation instead of per lead?
A Roofing Inbound Call costs $150 per conversation. A Signature Roofing Lead costs $5 per row, so your cost per conversation is $5 divided by the share of the list you reach: $25 at 20%, $10 at 50%, $6.25 at 80%. Fixr publishes a 70% to 80% contact rate on purchased roofing leads.
Price per lead and price per conversation are different questions, and the second is closer to what a roofer actually experiences. A row you never reach still cost $5. An Inbound Call you answer is a conversation by definition, because the homeowner is already on the line.
At Fixr's published 70% to 80% contact rate on purchased roofing leads, a $5.00 row works out at $6.25 to $7.14 per conversation, so a $150 Inbound Call costs roughly 21 to 24 times as much per conversation. The two conversations are not alike, though. The list conversation starts cold, and you are the one telling the homeowner why you are calling. The inbound-call conversation starts after we have confirmed they own the home, that they have a roof problem, and that they want a quote. Whether that head start is worth 21 to 24 times the price is a question only your own numbers answer.
The contact rate in the left column is your assumption, not a promise from us. A crew that dials once and gives up will sit at the bottom of the table. A crew that dials three times across different hours, texts, and then knocks the address will sit near the top, which is the practical argument for buying addresses rather than only phone numbers.
| Share of the list you actually reach | Cost per conversation at $5.00 per lead | Cost per conversation at $4.00 per lead, 200 or more | Cost per conversation on a $150.00 Inbound Call |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10% | $50.00 | $40.00 | $150.00 |
| 20% | $25.00 | $20.00 | $150.00 |
| 30% | $16.67 | $13.33 | $150.00 |
| 50% | $10.00 | $8.00 | $150.00 |
| 70% | $7.14 | $5.71 | $150.00 |
| 80% | $6.25 | $5.00 | $150.00 |
Fixr, citing RoofingCalculator.com, publishes a 70% to 80% contact rate on purchased roofing leads, which is the bottom two rows. That figure measured other companies' leads, not ours.
Which product suits my crew?
If someone answers your phone through the working day, Inbound Calls fit: $150 buys a conversation you did not have to chase. If you work a list in the evening or knock addresses on a route, leads fit: the same $750 buys 166 rows at $4.50 instead of five calls.
Inbound Calls suit an operation that can pick up. That means an office person, an owner who keeps the phone on the seat beside them, or a salesperson whose day is phone calls. If your line goes unanswered we try the call again, but the cost of a call nobody answers inside the delivery window is the full $150, because that counts as delivered. If your crew is on a roof with the phone in a truck, that is a real risk, and the cheaper product is the honest recommendation.
Signature Roofing Leads suit an operation with time but less cash. A door-knocking crew gets addresses to hit before the cold streets. A one-truck contractor gets a list to work in the evening after the day's work is done. The trade is that you do the contacting, you take the misses, and you handle the compliance: scrubbing against the National Do Not Call Registry under your own subscription and following the calling-hours rules in your state.
Neither product is a same-hour tap. Lists land within 2-3 business days and calls are completed within 5 business days, because every homeowner we connect to you has to be phoned and confirmed first. If you need work on the calendar this afternoon, neither of these is the tool.
If you cannot tell which you are, the entry prices let you find out for $1,000: 50 leads at $250 and 5 calls at $750, in the same ZIP code and radius, tracked against your own booked jobs. That is not a recommendation to spend $1,000. It is the smallest honest test, because those are the two minimum order sizes and neither product is sold below them. Our FAQ covers what each order looks like when it arrives.
What happens if I miss an inbound call?
It counts as delivered. If your line goes unanswered we try the call again, but a call you do not answer inside the delivery window is still one of the $150 calls you bought, and the confirmed homeowner's details are delivered to your account instead. It is not replaced, and there are no refunds after checkout.
The rest of the rules, stated plainly. If a homeowner we connected to you tells you they do not own the home, do not have a roof problem, or never asked for a quote, report it within 7 calendar days and the call is replaced at no charge. A call that drops before you and the homeowner have spoken is not a delivered call either, and is replaced the same way. A homeowner who answers no to any of the three confirmations is never connected to you and does not count against your order. A record of every completed call lands in your account.
On the list side, an unusable row is replaced at no charge if you report it by email within 7 calendar days of delivery. A row counts as unusable if the phone number is disconnected or not in service, the address is outside the radius you bought and widening did not add it, it duplicates another row in the same delivery, or the details are plainly not a real person. A homeowner who simply does not answer, does not remember asking, or has changed their mind is not an unusable row.
There are no refunds and no cancellations after checkout on either product. If your ZIP code and radius cannot fill the order, the search widens outward from the same ZIP code until it does, so orders fill rather than arriving short. Those terms are the same for a $250 list order and a $750 inbound-call order, and they are set out in full at our terms.
This rule is the single biggest reason to think about your crew before your spreadsheet. On a $5 lead, a missed call costs you $5 and you can dial again tomorrow. On a $150 Inbound Call, we try again, but a call your line never answers inside the delivery window costs you $150 and you get the contact details instead of the conversation you paid for.
What is the smallest order of each, and what does $750 buy either way?
The smallest orders are 50 Signature Roofing Leads at $250 and 5 Roofing Inbound Calls at $750. That same $750 buys 166 leads at the 100-lead rate of $4.50, which is $747. One call costs exactly what 30 leads cost at the $5.00 entry rate.
The $500 gap between the two minimum orders is the part small contractors feel first. $250 is a slow week's fuel bill. $750 is a decision. There is no way to buy a single call to try it, because the minimum is five, and no way to buy ten leads, because the minimum is fifty.
Signature Roofing Leads have a volume ladder: $5.00 each at 50, $4.50 each at 100 and $4.00 each at 200 or more, up to 2,000 per order. Inbound Calls are a flat $150 at every quantity from 5 to 100. Discount codes do not apply to either product, and there is no contract, subscription or setup fee on either.
For break-even, the number that matters is your gross profit per job, not the job's price. 99 Calls publishes an illustration built on a $12,000 average job with about $4,000 in gross profit before overhead (February 2, 2026, updated July 22, 2026). Drop those numbers in and a $5.00 lead breaks even at a 0.125% close rate, while a $150.00 call breaks even at 3.75%. Put another way, a $250 list order pays for itself the moment one job clears $250 in gross profit, and a $750 inbound-call order needs one job clearing $750. Substitute your own gross profit, because a repair-focused company and a full-replacement company are not playing the same game.
| Order | Units | Unit price | Total | What you have to do with it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smallest list order | 50 Signature Roofing Leads | $5.00 | $250.00 | 50 rows to call, text or knock yourself |
| Volume list order | 100 Signature Roofing Leads | $4.50 | $450.00 | 100 rows to work yourself |
| The same spend as 5 calls | 166 Signature Roofing Leads | $4.50 | $747.00 | 166 rows to work yourself |
| Best per-lead rate | 200 Signature Roofing Leads | $4.00 | $800.00 | 200 rows to work yourself |
| Smallest inbound-call order | 5 Roofing Inbound Calls | $150.00 | $750.00 | 5 calls to pick up, each with a homeowner on the line |
| Larger inbound-call order | 10 Roofing Inbound Calls | $150.00 | $1,500.00 | 10 calls to pick up, each with a homeowner on the line |
Maximum 2,000 leads or 100 calls per order. Each order is for one product, so buying both means placing two orders.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order leads and inbound calls on the same order?
No. Each order is for one product, with its own ZIP code, radius and minimum, so buying both means placing two orders: 50 Signature Roofing Leads at $250 and 5 Roofing Inbound Calls at $750. You can use the same ZIP code and the same radius on both, which is what you would want if you were comparing them against your own booked jobs.
Do you set the appointment on an inbound call?
No. We call the homeowner, confirm they own the home, that they have a roof problem, and that they want a quote, then we connect them to you live on the phone. Booking the inspection or the estimate happens on that call, between you and the homeowner. We run no other check on the homeowner or the property.
Do inbound calls get cheaper if I buy more?
No. A Roofing Inbound Call is a flat $150.00 at every quantity from the 5-call minimum to the 100-call maximum. Only Signature Roofing Leads have a volume ladder: $5.00 each at 50, $4.50 each at 100 and $4.00 each at 200 or more, up to 2,000 per order. Discount codes do not apply to either product.
What close rate should I expect from each product?
We do not publish one, and you should be careful with anyone who does. All Service Leads has no substantiated close rate, return figure or customer result for either product, so every close rate on this page comes from a third party measuring other companies' leads. The honest way to use this page is to run one order of each through the formula with your own numbers.
Why is the $5 lead so much cheaper than every published price?
Because you are buying the row and doing the work. The published ranges cover leads that arrive the moment a homeowner submits a form, leads a seller promises to deliver to a single contractor, and calls a vendor's staff has already made. A Signature Roofing Lead is a homeowner who asked about a roof, delivered as a row in a list with name, phone number, property address and the reported roof issue, with no call made and no claim of sole or one-time sale.
